The Abduction of Grumpy Bunny: A Tragic Tale from the Wasteland

There are moments in every offroader’s life that test their strength, their resolve, and their ability not to cry in front of coworkers. Today, I faced one of those moments: Grumpy Bunny has been abducted.

Yes — abducted.   Taken. Vanished. Yeeted from my Jeep by forces unknown, probably while I was inside being a responsible adult at work.

One minute he was perched in the Jeep, radiating pure judgment and emotional support chaos. The next? Gone. No ransom note. No trail of fluff. No suspicious paw prints. Just… absence.

A Legend Lost Too Soon

Grumpy Bunny wasn’t just a mascot. He was a lifestyle. A mood. A tiny, grumpy emotional support cryptid who brought joy to everyone except, admittedly, my partner — who tolerated him the way one tolerates a raccoon that keeps showing up on the porch.

But me? I loved that little menace.

He sat in the Jeep like a furry airbag of attitude, silently judging my driving choices, my wiring decisions, and my life in general. He was the perfect co‑pilot: never helpful, always present, and deeply committed to looking like he hated every second of existence.

The Joy He Brought Us

Grumpy Bunny made trail days funnier. He made photos better. He made the Jeep feel… alive.

He was the kind of character who didn’t need to speak to have a personality. His personality was “I’m mad, and it’s your fault,” and honestly? That was comforting. It felt like home.

Even people who didn’t like him (looking at you, partner) still ended up talking about him. You can’t ignore a creature that looks like it crawled out of a Tim Burton fever dream and decided to ride shotgun.

The Sadness That Remains

Now the Jeep feels empty. The trails feel quieter. And I’m left with the emotional equivalent of losing a tiny, fluffy coworker who never did any work but somehow made the office better.

I know he was just a plushie. I know he didn’t actually help with recoveries or wiring or trail scouting. But damn… he mattered.

And whoever took him? I hope they understand the responsibility they’ve assumed. Grumpy Bunny is not a toy — he is a force. A chaotic, judgmental, undead‑adjacent relic of pure attitude. May they treat him with the respect he never gave anyone.

What Comes Next

Will I replace him? Maybe. But Grumpy Bunny wasn’t just bought — he was earned. He survived trails, mud, sand, questionable decisions, and at least three near‑death experiences involving zip ties.

Replacing him won’t be easy. But honoring him? That part’s simple.

Grumpy Bunny may be gone… but his legacy of chaos, grumpiness, and emotional support hostility will live on in Undead Offroad forever.

The reports of my feelings towards Grumpy Bunny have been greatly exaggerated. I loved him too, and I am offering reward money for his safe return!
